Green Screen Tips
The Top 10 Techniques You Can Use Immediately!
In using green screen software, there are some things you can do to make
everything easier for you. For all those interested, if you follow these green screen tips, your pictures
will look professional and exciting.
-
Good poses – Your subjects should be thinking of where they are, or
at least where you’ll put them after the picture goes through the green screen software. They need to
bring the energy and should fully understand how they should look like and act according to the
“location” of your shoot.
-
Good background – Your background, on the other hand, should be a
good picture as well. High quality pictures must be used so it would look good together with your
subjects. Also, the background image should have enough elements in it to make sure that whoever sees
the picture would understand just where it is.
-
Same lighting angle – The lighting for both your subjects and your
background should match. It would be very bad if the light source for your subjects is on the right
side, while the light source for your background is on the left side. The best thing to do is to follow
the lighting of the background image you’d most probably use, since you can adjust the lighting for the
picture for your subjects.
-
Sharp pictures – Nobody wants to see blurred pictures, and
especially in using the green screen, pictures must be sharp so that the pictures would match. It’s
easier to make a picture less sharp to match then to make it sharper, since that usually destroys the
quality of the image itself.
-
Appropriate clothes and props – This should be a given in green
screen tips and mustn’t be mentioned, but a lot of pictures violate this simple rule. If you’re
going to use Africa, you probably shouldn’t have your subjects wearing jackets. Amazingly, some
photographers overlook this simple thing.
-
Proper equipment – For best results, you should have the best
equipment possible. DSLR cameras, tripods, light sources – but at the very least, a digital camera on a
tripod would do. Just make sure that you know how your equipment works, and how you could use them
best.
-
Adjust color – After the pictures are taken, sometimes the colors
need a bit of adjustment to coincide with the hues or shades of the background image. Any form of
picture editing software could do this, and a few adjustments are a small thing to do to get your
picture perfect.
-
Shoot with the final picture in mind – Always have the final image
in your head when you take pictures and select the background image. Have a goal in mind, so that you
can make adjustments along the way to get to the final image along the way.
-
Take lots of pictures – More pictures mean more choices. In matching
two images, it’s always better to have more options. Just keep on pressing that shutter button, so you’d
have a bigger chance of getting good pictures to use with the background image.
-
Have fun – It might be a job, it might be a hobby, but this same
thing remains. Keep it fun! Enjoy what you’re doing and that would surely reflect on your
pictures.
If you follow these green screen tips, your green screen pictures
would surely come out great. Have fun!
